Alone sits the ranch, surrounded
by high desert yet in an alcove nurtured by the Shasta River with views
of the mountain itself. It is one of the most picturesque in the
county, yet it sits empty. From the outbuildings one can guess this
place has been here over a hundred years. The main house was renovated
some time in the seventies, then abandoned at some point. Wandering the
furnished but empty buildings leaves us wondering what the story is.
Where did these people go? Was it abandoned through neglect or tragedy?
Did all the younger generation move to the city for work as so often
happens today? It's the perfect scene for a good book or a bad horror
movie. Hopefully though these images you can get a feel for this
location
